If you need a massive hit of heat, fast, these are your go-to. We built these 20.25-inch lamps to pump out concentrated short-wave infrared energy. At 1500W, they don’t just warm things up—they blast them. It’s the kind of raw power you need when your thermal processing can’t afford to wait around. The Voltage Question You’ve got two choices here: 240V or 480V. Here’s the trick: if you go with 480V, you’re pulling less current per lamp. That means you can cram more lamps onto a single circuit without worrying about tripping your breakers every ten minutes. But a word of warning. Since these things are so aggressive, you’ve got to keep your reflectors spotless. If they’re dirty, you’re basically throwing heat away into the housing instead of putting it into your product. What’s Under the Hood? We use high-purity quartz because these lamps go through a lot of stress. They heat up and cool down rapidly, and cheap glass would just crack. Plus, the halogen cycle does the heavy lifting here. It stops the tungsten filament from evaporating and gunking up the inside of the tube. This keeps the glass clear and means you aren’t replacing lamps every few weeks. If you’re running PET blowing or plastic shrink-wrap machines, this 20.25" size should fit right in. Getting Them to Work for You These are pretty much “plug and play” for industrial ovens and molding gear. They hit your target temperature way faster than those old ceramic or mica heaters. Because it’s short-wave heat, it actually sinks into the material rather than just sitting on the surface. Just be careful. That intensity is a double-edged sword. If your conveyor is moving too slow or your lamps aren’t spaced just right, you’ll end up with nasty hot spots. You’ll want a solid PID controller to dial in the power, otherwise, you’re just going to burn out your filaments. And one last thing—double-check your connector fit before you flip the switch. You really don’t want to see arcing at the terminals.
