Built for Serious Heat
We built this 2000W, 240V halogen infrared heat lamp for one reason: to blast concentrated heat exactly where you need it. That 2000W rating on a 240V circuit gives you serious power density, so it can handle the heavy-duty industrial heating jobs that make other lamps sweat. Plug it into the right 240V supply, and you get one thing above all: speed. Temperature ramps up fast, and the output stays steady. No waiting around.
What’s Inside
At the heart of it is the halogen cycle, sealed inside a quartz envelope. That design keeps the filament cleaner and helps the lamp last longer than a standard incandescent. The glass comes with either a gold or clear ruby coating. That coating filters out visible light and reflects the infrared energy forward, so more heat goes straight onto the target. Less wasted energy. More useful heat. And the R7s base? It’s a standard double-ended connector, so installation is straightforward. It drops right into existing fixtures—no fuss.
Why It Works in the Shop
In practice, this setup shines at spot heating, curing, and drying materials. Because the infrared output is focused, it heats surfaces quickly without turning the whole room into a sauna. That means your process responds faster. Running on 240V also helps. For the same wattage, the current draw is lower, which makes wiring easier and cuts down on line losses. Just keep a couple of things in mind. Make sure you have adequate ventilation and plan for thermal management. This lamp runs hot—so your fixture and anything nearby need to be able to handle the heat.
