
Better Curing Without the Massive Price Tag
We built our countertop powder coating heaters for the small-to-medium shops that need industrial-grade heat but can’t justify spending a fortune on a massive production line. Instead of wasting energy heating up a giant oven box, these units use short-wave infrared (IR) to hit the powder directly. It’s a much smarter way to work. The heat is intense. We use quartz heating elements that beam energy straight into the coating. This means you aren’t sitting around waiting for the air to warm up; you get a fast ramp-up to curing temp, which lets you get parts out the door way quicker. Just a heads-up: because the heat is so concentrated, you’ve got to be mindful of where you place your parts. If they’re too close or crooked, you might run into scorching or that annoying “orange peel” texture. What’s under the hood? To keep things from cracking under pressure, we house the tungsten filaments in high-purity quartz glass. It can handle the wild temperature swings of rapid curing without breaking a sweat. We also beefed up the connectors to handle high-current loads, so you don’t have to worry about terminals burning out. These units are small enough to sit right on your workbench. But keep in mind, they pull a lot of power. Do yourself a favor and check your shop’s amperage and breakers before you plug these in. You don’t want to blow a fuse the second you flip the switch. Fitting them into your workflow These are great as a quick addition to your manual stations. Think about the difference: instead of waiting for a convection oven to finally hit temperature, you just trigger the IR lamps and start curing immediately. It’s a lifesaver for small batches or those weirdly shaped specialty parts that just won’t fit on a conveyor. One thing to remember: IR is line-of-sight. If your part has deep nooks, crannies, or complex curves, the heat won’t “bend” around them. You’ll need to rotate the piece a bit to make sure every inch gets the heat it needs.
