Picking Your Power
We’ve got these in 800W, 1000W, 1200W, and 1600W. Think of it like this: the wattage is basically how hard you’re hitting your workpiece with heat. If you go with the 1600W tube, you’re getting massive heat density. It’s incredibly fast. But a quick heads-up: make sure your wiring and power supply can actually handle that pull. You don’t want to deal with voltage drops right in the middle of a run. On the flip side, if you need a gentler, more controlled “heat soak,” the 800W version is the way to go.
The Magic of the Halogen Cycle
The quartz tube is the heart of the whole thing. It lets shortwave IR radiation pass right through without getting blocked. But here’s the clever part: we use a halogen gas fill. This stops the tungsten filament from evaporating and gunking up the inside of the glass. It keeps everything crystal clear and helps the lamp last much longer. One thing though—keep them clean. Making Them Work for You
These are designed to be drop-in replacements for standard IR heaters, so getting them wired up is a breeze. But remember, these things get scorching hot. You’ll need a mounting footprint that gives them some breathing room. Also, keep an eye on your cooling system. If your machine isn’t built to shed the heat from a 1600W lamp, you might accidentally fry your nearby electronics. Just match the wattage to how thick your material is. It’s the easiest way to make sure you’re getting a perfect cure without scorching the surface.
